Sarri reveals Barkley set to miss United clash

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has revealed that midfielder Ross Barkley is likely to miss their clash with Manchester United on Saturday.

Barkley is set to miss the clash with an unknown injury, which may have been sustained whilst on international duty with England earlier this week.

He started in England’s 3-2 win over Spain and impressed in midfield, playing his part in the third goal – scored by Raheem Sterling.

The central midfielder has made 11 appearances for Chelsea this season and was expected to start alongside Jorginho and N’Golo Kante this weekend. However, it appears as though he is out and Mateo Kovacic is likely to take his place in the starting XI.

Barkley’s last Premier League appearance for Chelsea resulted in a goal and an assist as they swept Southampton aside with a 3-0 win.
