Mount and Tomori free to play against Chelsea

Chelsea have confirmed that both Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori have been given the all clear to face the Blues in the Carabao Cup.

As confirmed on the club’s website, the Blues have allowed both players to feature against their parent side, despite loan players usually being prevented from facing Chelsea.

Loan players are free to face their parent club in the competition should they be given permission from the team in question.

However, Chelsea are usually reluctant to come up against their young stars, but both Mount and Timori have been given the go ahead.

Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard previously joked that he would be asking for a huge favour from his former side and he seems to have got his wish.

Both players have been instrumental in Derby’s success this season and there is no better test for the young duo to prove their potential to the Blues.
