Chelsea target Piotr Zielinski has yet to put pen to paper on a new deal at Napoli, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Serie A outfit have long been attempting to tie the Poland international down to an extension at the Stadio San Paolo, but it appears they are struggling to agree to the player’s demands.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the midfielder in recent weeks, with Maurizio Sarri understood to be keen on reuniting with the player.
Zielinski’s current deal in Naples is believed to include a release clause set at €65 million. This is something that president Aurelio De Laurentiis is keen to increase, with a figure of €130 million touted by Calciomercato.
The midfielder’s entourage are understood to be reluctant to agree to these terms, as they seek a higher pay packet for their client, too.
Calciomercato report that Napoli are currently offering Zielinski a salary set at €2.5 million per year, which is €1 million short of what the player’s agents are demanding.
Chelsea are well stocked with midfield options but with Zielinski’s future in Italy uncertain, Sarri could be tempted to swoop for his former star.
