Chelsea join Manchester City in race for Tanguy Ndombele

According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea have joined the race to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.

The 21-year-old Frenchman has impressed in Ligue 1 this season and is regarded as one of the best youngsters in Europe, after cementing his place in Lyon’s starting line-up this season.

Both Manchester City and Manchester United are thought to be tracking the youngster’s situation, with reports suggesting Ndombele’s parent club will be looking for a fee in the region of £55 million for the energetic midfielder.

Ndombele, who made his loan move to Lyon from Amiens permanent in the summer, started against City in the Champions League last month and excelled, as Lyon shocked Pep Guardiola’s side at the Etihad.

Tottenham are also thought to be keen on bringing the midfielder to the Premier League, with Ndombele earning a call-up to the national side from Didier Deschamps earlier this year after a string of impressive individual performances.
