Latest Real Madrid developments could be bad news for Chelsea and Spurs

Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is no longer the favourite for the Real Madrid job, which could spell bad news for both the Blues and Tottenham in months to come.

According to reports from AS, Santiago Solari is now the leading candidate to replace Julen Lopetegui on a short-term deal.

Solari has been an outside candidate to replace Lopetegui, as he currently works with the Real Madrid B team.

For Real Madrid, this would be a cheaper option and one that would allow them to reevaluate the situation in the summer.

It had been suggested that Conte’s arrival could scupper Real’s chances of landing Eden Hazard, but that will not be the case if the Italian does not take the job.

Meanwhile, Real are likely to reignite their interest in long-term target Mauricio Pochettino next summer if they do not appoint a permanent successor in the near future.
