The 59-year-old is regarded as one of the most superstitious managers in Europe, and midfielder Jorginho, who almost joined Manchester City in the summer before deciding to join Chelsea, has revealed Sarri’s main superstition on the touchline.

The 26-year-old, talking to Chelsea TV, admitted Sarri will never touch the ball on the sidelines, even if The Blues are chasing the game with time running out.

The way he seems – that’s how he is. He has no secrets. He’s a simple guy. He has his… beliefs, his superstitions. Everyone does.

For example, he won’t touch the match ball ever. Even if we’re losing, the ball goes out and we need to get the ball back in play as fast as possible, he won’t go near it. No way – he won’t touch it.

Then there are other things too, but that’s normal, no?
