Chelsea eyeing Roberto Pereyra as possible Eden Hazard replacement

According to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea officials are keeping a close eye on Watford’s Roberto Pereyra, with Eden Hazard’s future at Stamford Bridge still up in the air.

Hazard, who has been The Blues’ standout performer this season, is being tracked by Spanish giants Real Madrid, as they look to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, who made the move to Juventus in the summer.

The Belgian’s contract is up in 2020 and with the playmaker showing no signs of signing a new deal, rumours are increasing of his departure in the summer.

Former Juventus midfielder Pereyra has made an impressive start to the campaign with Watford, finding the back of the net in their victories against Brighton, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Huddersfield.

Pereyra’s progress this season has caught the eye of the decision-makers at Stamford Bridge, who are beginning to draw up a shortlist for potential Hazard replacements.

And with Pereyra living up to his potential so far this season, The Blues may face competition in order to secure the Argentine’s services in the summer.
