Maurizio Sarri urges Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses to improve

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has urged out of favour duo Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses to improve, in order to break into the first-team frame at Stamford Bridge and secure their futures with The Blues, Sky Sports report.

Despite featuring heavily over the past two years under former boss Antonio Conte, Moses has struggled to impress Sarri, making just six appearances this season, with only two coming in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Drinkwater has found it even harder to break into the first-team picture, with his only appearance under Sarri coming in the Community Shield defeat to Manchester City back in August.

The pair have both been linked with moves away when the window opens in January, with Chelsea making a positive start to the campaign without the England and Nigerian internationals.

When asked if the pair have futures with the club, Sarri admitted he is unsure if the duo can adapt to his system.

I don’t know; they have to improve, but the characteristics are a little bit different.

The situation is that Drinkwater for me is not suitable for a midfield with two midfielders. I told him two months ago what I think.

And Moses is more suitable for playing like a wing-back than like a winger or a full-back.
