Ake impresses United but Mourinho has his doubts over a move

Chelsea’s hopes of re-signing Nathan Ake from Bournemouth have been boosted by the news that Manchester United have their doubts about the defender.

The Manchester Evening News reports that are concerns among those at United about the player’s true defensive abilities.

Ake stole the show against United on Sunday with an impressive display at the back, amid rising interest from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

A number of clubs are said to be keeping close tabs on Ake as he continues to impress at Bournemouth this season.

Chelsea inserted a buy-back clause in the deal to take him to Bournemouth on a permanent basis, so the Blues will be alerted as soon as an official bid is made.

Tottenham have also been linked with a move to sign the Dutchman but Bournemouth will be doing everything in their power to keep hold of the player for as long as possible.
