Chelsea eyeing Bruno Roberto

Chelsea and Manchester United are both believed to be in the race for promising Atletico Mineiro midfielder Bruno Roberto.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, several Premier League sides have been alerted by Roberto’s rise to the senior team at Atletico and have sent scouts to observe his progress.

The 18-year-old has impressed at youth level in his homeland of Brazil and has only recently received recognition from the first-team setup at the club.

Roberto has made only five appearances for Atletico in Brasileirao this season, with all of these coming from the bench, but his rapid development does not appear to have gone unnoticed.

Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Liverpool are all claimed by the Daily Mail to be keen, with Chelsea and Manchester United both keeping tabs as well.

Roberto has been tipped for a bright future in Brazil and as interest continues to build, it seems Chelsea will face stiff competition from their Premier League rivals if they are to pursue a deal for the young midfielder.
