Christian Pulisic will see out the season with Borussia Dortmund, despite claims that Chelsea have won the race to sign the player.
It had been suggested that a deal to join Chelsea was close, with the American losing his place in the Dortmund side to English winger Jadon Sancho.
Pulisic has been a long-term target for the Blues and it finally appeared that he could be on the move in the summer.
Talk of a January deal had been emerging, but Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc has played down any chance of that happening.
Speaking to Kicker, as cited on ESPN, Zorc confirmed the player would be staying put in the new year.
We are planning with him at least until the end of the season. We will need Christian significantly.
Previous reports have claimed Pulisic would be on Chelsea’s radar in case Eden Hazard left for Real Madrid, so the Blues could be putting plans in place to ensure they are protected in case they lose the Belgian at the end of the season.
