Roma set to enter the running to sign Bakayoko from Chelsea

Roma could rival Milan in the race to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea, with Monchi said to be a fan of the player.

According to II Tempo, as cited on Calciomercato, Roma are interested in signing the Frenchman.

The reports follow claims that Milan are hoping that they could land the midfielder in a cut-price move following his performances since joining the San Siro outfit.

Milan are still reportedly interested in signing the player on a permanent basis but are not willing to meet the €40 million asking price that was agreed as part of the loan move.

Bakayoko endured a poor start to the campaign in Italy but has since found his feet and is looking to finish strongly in Serie A to get his career back on track.

The French midfielder was not deemed to be part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans and looks unlikely to win back his place at Stamford Bridge under the Italian.
