Milan will not cancel Bakayoko’s loan deal

AC Milan have reportedly decided against cancelling Tiemoue Bakayoko’s loan deal at the club.

Speculation had surrounded the Frenchman’s situation at San Siro after a rocky start, following his season-long loan move from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Bakayoko had failed to convince in the opening stages of his time in Milan but has since picked up in form.

It was reported previously that Gennaro Gattuso was considering cutting the former AS Monaco star’s loan deal short after he had been left unimpressed by his efforts.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by talkSPORT, however, these apparent plans have been dismissed and Bakayoko is all but set to continue in Italy until the end of the season.

The midfielder was signed in a deal worth in the region of £40 million by the Blues in 2017.

After a difficult maiden season in the Premier League, though, the 24-year-old was offloaded on a temporary basis in the summer, with Chelsea recruiting Jorginho from Napoli and Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid on loan.
