Chelsea to block potential January exit for Andreas Christensen

Chelsea will block any potential bids to sell out-of-favour defender Andreas Christensen in January.

The London Evening Standard reports that the Blues are not interested in parting ways with the Danish international.

The player’s father has recently talked up the chances of Christensen leaving in the new year, with clubs across Europe taking note of his situation.

The young defender has failed to break into Maurizio Sarri’s side this season and is yet to make a single Premier League appearance.

Clubs in Italy, Spain and Germany are all said to be interested in making bids but Chelsea value Christensen at roughly £40 million, according to the report.

Roma and Gladbach have previously been linked with loan moves to sign the player in January.

However, with Gary Cahill looking set to leave the club in the coming months, the Blues would be left short at the back if they were to part ways with the Dane too.
