Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi set for January loan move

Chelsea will listen to loan offers for youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi in January, according to Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old has found it difficult to be part of Maurizio Sarri’s first-team plans this season, featuring for just 36 minutes in total.

The likes of Eden Hazard, Willian and Pedro have made it almost impossible for the teenager to become a key man, given their wealth of experience and pedigree.

Chelsea feel it will be more beneficial to loan out Hudson-Odoi in January, but only to a team towards the bottom-half of the Premier League table.

The Blues will not sell to a top-six rival, with the winger’s quality capable of adversely affecting his permanent employer.

The report states that Burnley and Southampton could be in the running for Hudson-Odoi’s signature.

Both clubs are keen on acquiring a wide man and also have a preference for purchasing homegrown talent.

Hudson-Odoi is one of English football’s brightest sparks, with big things expected of him in the future.

The only way he is going to grow as a footballer is to play regularly, however, which doesn’t seem possible at Chelsea currently.

He could be a real asset for one of the so-called lesser Premier League outfits during the second-half of the season.

matchday.
