Rugani regrets missing out on Chelsea move

Juventus defender Daniele Rugani reportedly regrets the missed opportunity he had to join Chelsea over the summer.

Corriere dello Sport explains that the Italian defender is once again facing a bleak future at Juventus with the January transfer window approaching.

As he continues to find game time hard to come by, Roma and Milan have been linked with January swoops to sign the player from the Old Lady.

Chelsea were heavily linked with the defender over the summer, but could not finalise a deal after Juventus sold Mattia Caldara to Milan.

It was widely reported that a deal between Juventus and Chelsea was close, with Maurizio Sarri keen to bring the former Empoli player to Stamford Bridge with him, but the move fell through.

Massimo Allegri’s side were unwilling to lose two defenders in the same window, despite re-signing Leonardo Bonucci from their Serie A rivals.

Although Sarri is a known admirer of Rugani, it is yet to be seen if the club will reignite their interest in the player going forward.
