Hazard insists he will not leave in January

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has delivered an update on his future ahead of the January transfer window.

The Belgian international was courted by Real Madrid in the summer but the Blues remained intent on retaining his services.

Speculation has continued to surround Hazard’s position at Chelsea but in an interview with Canal Football Club, as cited by GFFN, the player has insisted that he will not depart Stamford Bridge in January. The winger said:

For the moment I am concentrating on Chelsea, I have one year left on my contract at the end of the season. If I don’t extend, it is possible. I can’t see myself leaving in January, I wouldn’t do that to the club, the fans.

Next summer it is possible, it is another question, but it is also possible that I spend the rest of my career at Chelsea.

The 27-year-old has emerged as one of the Premier League’s standout performers this season and still leads the way as his team’s top goalscorer.

Hazard has found the net on eight occasions in all competitions and has also chipped in with four assists this term.

This form has only further prompted claims that he could be a January target for Real Madrid, following the team’s torrid start to the La Liga season.
