Eden Hazard plays down fears over potential injury

Eden Hazard is ready to hand Chelsea a major fitness boost ahead of their midweek clash in the Europa League.

Speaking to reporters after the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday, Hazard confirmed that the injury he sustained during the game was nothing major.

The Belgian was seen to be struggling during the clash at Wembley but the Chelsea star moved quickly to calm any nerves among supporters.

My injury I think is not something bad. I think I just twisted my ankle, but it’s like every game, it’s the same. I am used to [it] and I will be back soon.

It is yet to be seen if Hazard will be risked during Thursday night’s game against PAOK, with Maurizio Sarri’s men looking comfortable at the top of Group L, six points clear of Vidi in second place.

Sarri has used the competition to hand minutes to fringe players so far this season and the same could happen on Thursday night.

Hazard has rarely been called upon in Europe unless he has been needed with the Blues struggling.

matchday.
