David Luiz is facing an uncertain future at Chelsea, according to a report from Calciomercato.
The Brazilian defender has been reintegrated into the Blues’ first team by Maurizio Sarri this season but has not yet put pen to paper on a new contract at the club.
Luiz endured a difficult campaign last time out as his frosty relationship with previous Chelsea manager Antonio Conte saw him left out of the team on several occasions.
Nevertheless, following Sarri’s arrival, the former PSG star has enjoyed an extended run in the team and has been favoured in a partnership alongside Antonio Rudiger.
The 31-year-old sees his contract at Stamford Bridge come to its expiration date at the end of the season, prompting concerns that Luiz will walk away from the club on a free transfer.
No contract talks are understood to have taken place just yet and with time ticking away on his current deal in West London, the enigmatic central defender is said to be facing uncertainty regarding his future.
