Milan are said to be confident about their chances of landing Chelsea defender Gary Cahill on loan in the January transfer window.
According to reports in Italy from Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited on Sport Witness, the Rossoneri are hopeful that they can sign the Englishman on a temporary basis in January.
The club reportedly wants to give the defender a chance to impress in Serie A, with the possibility of earning a permanent deal at the end of the season.
It has already been widely reported that the Blues will let Cahill leave the club on loan in January in a move that will ultimately bring an end to his time at Chelsea.
Cahill will see his contract at Stamford Bridge expire in the summer and the Blues are ready to part ways with the club captain who has found game time hard to come by this season under Maurizio Sarri.
The ex-Bolton man remains highly regarded around the club and the Blues are keen to ensure he is given every chance to play during the latter stages of his career, even if that means moving elsewhere in January.
