Tammy Abraham is unlikely to make a return to Stamford Bridge in January, according to reports.
Birmingham Live claims that Dean Smith’s side are confident about their chances of keeping hold of the player until the end of the season.
Reports emerged over the weekend that claimed the striker could be recalled by the Blues in the new year, but that now appears unlikely.
Preliminary talks between both clubs have taken place with Abraham continuing to impress in the Championship.
Chelsea do have the option to recall the striker in January, as per the season-long loan deal that was agreed in the summer.
Maurizio Sarri’s sde are in need of another striker and reports have suggested they could make a big move in January.
However, Abraham would certainly represent a quicker, cheaper alternative if Sarri and his staff have been impressed with what they have seen from him this season.
