The Brazilian has started the season in fine form after making a big-money move from Watford.
Goal Brazil reports that the Blues, who have been long-term admirers, are watching him closely with the club well aware of his potential.
Chelsea’s interest in the player dates back to his time in Brazil. The Blues were among the first to be linked with a move to bring him to Europe, but he would go on to join Watford from Fluminense.
The Brazilian has since flourished in the Premier League and followed Marco Silva to Goodison Park over the summer.
Everton will face a battle to keep hold of the player going forward if he continues to impress in the way he has done this season.
However, having paid £50 million for his signature, the Toffees will be able to hold out for a huge sum before selling.
