Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has all but confirmed that his side will make at least one signing in the upcoming January transfer window, The Sport Review reports.
Despite a good start to the season for Sarri – who was only implemented as the Blues’ boss in July following Antonio Conte’s sacking – Chelsea are likely to be linked with a whole host of players in the upcoming weeks.
The January transfer window will allow Sarri to make further changes to his squad and print his own style onto it midway through the season.
Sarri spoke at his press conference ahead of his side’s clash against Manchester City on Saturday and addressed the possibility of making any signings:
We need to change mentality – not because the old mentality was bad but it is not suitable with the new way of playing.
Then after all this, maybe you need one player.
But you cannot think you can buy 11 new players without problems. Then the problems will be the same.
You have to create a new mentality and style of playing. We need to arrive at 95 per cent of our potential, then we can get the last five per cent with a new player.
