AC Milan are confident that they can tie up a cut-price deal for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to reports from Italy.
The Serie A giants have identified the Spaniard as a target for the January transfer window, with Gennaro Gattuso keen to add further quality to his midfield options.
Fabregas has been forced to play a sporadic role in the Chelsea team this season following Maurizio Sarri’s appointment. Summer signings Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho are ahead of the former Arsenal star in the pecking order.

This has prompted speculation surrounding the experienced midfielder’s future, with Milan understood to be leading the race for his signature.
According to claims from Sky Sports Italia, as cited in a report from Calciomercato, the Rossoneri are looking to complete a deal on the cheap for Fabregas.
It is stated that Milan are hopeful that the Blues will agree to sell the ex-Barcelona man in a deal worth between €8 million and €10 million in January.
