Ruben Loftus-Cheek attracting interest from AC Milan
AC Milan are interested in signing Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea, according to Tuttosport.
The 22-year-old has struggled to be a regular at Stamford Bridge this season, with a huge battle for game time in midfield.
Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic have invariably been Maurizio Sarri’s starting trio, but Loftus-Cheek has found form of late.
The England international has scored six times for the Blues in 2018/19, including a hat-trick against BATE Borisov in October.
Milan have been linked with a move for Loftus Cheek’s teammate Cesc Fabregas, but the Serie A giants are also believed to be watching him closely.
Manager Leonardo is seen as a keen admirer of the imposing England man, as he looks to add quality in the middle of the park.
Loftus-Cheek is at a tricky point in his career, in terms of making the crucial next step.
He is talented enough to become a regular at Chelsea, but there will always be doubts about playing time because of the quality around him.
The youngster is too gifted to be sitting on the substitutes’ bench regularly, especially if he wants to become a key man for England.
It seems likely that he will remain a Chelsea player until the end of the season, but a decision will then have to be made.
