Barcelona make formal Christensen loan offer
Barcelona have reportedly launched a formal loan offer to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen in January.
According to Sport, Barcelona are ready to step up their interest in Dane as he continues to watch from the sidelines at Stamford Bridge.
Christensen has been identified as a possible transfer target following the injury problems suffered by Samuel Umtiti.
A nasty knee injury means that the Frenchman will require surgery and Barcelona are looking to sign a stop-gap replacement in the new year.
A host of players have been linked with moves to the Nou Camp, but Christensen appears to be one of their key targets.
The report claims that Chelsea are not interested in letting the player leave on loan, but could well be tempted by the prospect of a permanent transfer.
Given the nature of Umtiti’s injury, it is believed that Barcelona would prefer the idea of a temporary deal, something that could potentially boost Chelsea’s chances of keeping hold of the player.
