Chelsea given hope in potential bid for Anthony Martial
The agent of Anthony Martial believes his player is a long way from signing a new contract with Manchester United.
The Frenchman is one of many United players reportedly not seeing eye to eye with Jose Mourinho, as they continue to endure a torrid time of things this season.
Martial was a late substitute in Sunday’s 3-1 defeat away to Liverpool and he has been linked with both Chelsea and Arsenal in recent times.
In an interview with RMC Sport, the 23-year-old’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, says he doesn’t think he will sign a long-term deal at Old Trafford:
I am very pessimistic about a positive outcome of the discussions.
They’ve already made several offers that do not meet our expectations.
We are far from an agreement for the time being.
With each passing week, a summer move feels more likely for Martial and he won’t be without suitors.
He is a hugely talented player currently being held back by his manager and he has the ability to add genuine firepower to another team’s forward line.
Chelsea require additions in that area, with the likes of Willian and Pedro ageing, and fresh blood is required.
