Zola appears to confirm Chelsea’s interest in Callum Wilson
Gianfranco Zola has seemingly confirmed Chelsea’s interest in Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
Speaking to the media ahead of the League Cup meeting against the Cherries, Zola was quizzed on the England international, who has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.
Maurizio Sarri’s right-hand man may have inadvertently confirmed Chelsea’s intentions to sign Wilson when the transfer window opens.
I’m sure there are a lot of players linked with us. Certainly Callum Wilson is doing very well for that club. He is of interest not only for us but for many.
Chelsea are expected to enter the transfer market in January with the aim of replacing the out of form Alvaro Morata.
Wilson has been touted as a potential target for the Blues following the fantastic form he has displayed for Bournemouth this season.
In 15 Premier League starts, Wilson has found the back of the net eight times, while also registering five assists.
His form has not gone unnoticed, with the Blues and other Premier League sides also keen to snap him up in the new year.
Eddie Howe has already addressed the speculation, confirming Bournemouth’s desire to keep him, but they may well struggle to fend off any big-money bids in January.
