Batshuayi set to be given route out of Chelsea

Michy Batshuayi is set to be sold by Chelsea, according to Kristof Terreur of Dutch outlet Het Laatste Nieuws.

The striker is currently on loan at Valencia, but there is a suggestion he could be recalled and sold within a matter of days once the January transfer window is open.

Having failed to impress in just eight starts for the Spanish outfit, manager Marcelino is reportedly prepared to offload the percentage of Batshuayi’s wage bill he is currently paying.

Crystal Palace have also emerged as a likely destination for the 25-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2016.

The Eagles are on the lookout for a striker, with Roy Hodgson unsatisfied with having to choose between Christian Benteke, Alexander Sorloth, and Connor Wickham.

Similarly, Chelsea are also snooping around to see what front-men might be available, and could use funds raised from the sale of Batshuayi to help fund a possible move for Gonzalo Higuain.
