Chelsea are close to securing an incredible swap deal that will see Alvaro Morata head to AC Milan and Gonzalo Higuain move to Stamford Bridge, Caught Offside reports.
Morata has failed to live up to expectation since his move to Chelsea and has faced significant criticism from the Blues’ faithful.
It is reported that talks have already taken between club chiefs and that negotiations are entering the final stages.
Higuain would prove a major upgrade on Morata if the deal goes through, though at present it is not clear if it would be a permanent exchange or just a loan move.
Higuain shone when at Napoli under current Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri and could prove to be the key striker that Chelsea need this season.
Sarri’s side currently sit fourth in the Premier League, level with Arsenal but ahead only on goal difference and the star signing of Higuain would go a long way in helping Chelsea to ensure that they secure a top four position come the end of the season.
