Chelsea register interest in Arnautovic

Dean Jones of Bleacher Report has claimed West Ham striker Marko Arnautovic is being targeted by Chelsea.

The Blues are not-so-secretly keen to give themselves a new option at the top of the formation. with Maurizio Sarri less than enamoured with a choice of Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.

The forward has become a centrepiece at West Ham in recent seasons, his absence in the side felt after sustaining a hamstring injury at the start of December.

Having returned to the team in the 2-0 defeat against Burnley, Jones claims the West Londoners may try and tempt the Austrian international across the capital.

With five goals so far this campaign, Arnautovic can be used in link-up play or as an aggressive target man.

With his ‘alpha dog’ mentality, the 29-year-old would also bring a wealth of leadership qualities to the club.

Other options for Chelsea’s striking hunt include out-of-sorts Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain, or the perhaps dismal option of maintaining the status-quo.
