Chelsea not interested in selling Abraham

Chelsea have denied any suggestions that they have plans to sell Tammy Abraham this January.

Simon Johnson reports that the club have no intention of cashing in on the player, despite contrasting reports stating otherwise.

However, a move away from Aston Villa is not being ruled out at this stage.

With the striker continuing to impress in the Championship, a host of Premier League sides are said to be monitoring his situation.

Chelsea could take the decision to recall the striker and loan him to a top-flight side for the rest of the season.

Concerns over Financial Fair Play have led to claims that Chelsea could cash in on the player in a deal that may well include a buy-back clause, with the striker not in Maurizio Sarri’s immediate plans.

With 16 league goals to his name, Abraham is the joint-highest scorer in the Championship and many believe that the striker has done his time in the second division and should be playing regularly in the Premier League.
