Currently on loan at Milan from Juventus, the West Londoners had explored the possibility of taking over from Milan in the deal.

In addition, Chelsea’s recruitment team had also considered the possibility of buying the striker outright, for a fee believed to be in the region of £32 million.

Dissatisfied with other forward options Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud, Sarri is seemingly desperate to add any recognised front-man to his squad.
