Calcio Mercato claim that Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj has been offered to Atletico Madrid, despite interest from Chelsea.
The Albanian had been linked with a move to West London, which would have seen him follow both former manager Maurizio Sarri and former teammate Jorginho to the English capital.
Sarri is reported to be very eager to add a new full-back to his squad, having inherited a less-than-complete roster from fellow countryman Antonio Conte.
The Calcio Mercato report states that Atletico sporting director Andrea Berta has proposed the idea of signing Hysaj to manager Diego Simeone, and is prepared to make a move for the defender should he get the green light.
The familiarity of the former Empoli man with Sarri is supposedly set to give Chelsea the edge over Atletico Madrid.
Making 18 appearances in all competitions for his club so far this season, there are few right-backs in the world who can claim to be of a similar level to the 24-year-old.
