Maurizio Sarri needs to convince the Chelsea board to sign Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj this month.
According to The Evening Standard, Sarri is very keen to bring Hysaj to England to replace Davide Zappacosta, who looks set for a move to Lazio.
Zappacosta is poised to complete a loan move to Lazio, with the option of a £13.5m transfer at the end of the season.
However, Chelsea will only let Zappacosta leave the club if a replacement comes in first.

The Albanian international has rejected Napoli’s attempts to tie him down to a new contract and is thought to be considering his future in Italy.
Hysaj worked with Maurizio Sarri at Napoli and the Chelsea boss is eager to work with him once again, this season.
The report claims that Chelsea’s board are not convinced that the club needs a new right-back, due to Cesar Azpilicueta currently playing in the position.
