Palace could launch Abraham move as Wolves miss out

Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace could launch a move to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham on loan after he opted against a move to Wolves.

The Mirror claim that a move from Palace is not being ruled out during the January window.

The Eagles are believed to have established an interest in signing the England international in this month following his impressive form on loan at Aston Villa this season.

From just 20 appearances during his temporary spell, the ex-Swansea City loanee has netted 16 goals and has caught the eye for Dean Smith’s men.

This led Wolverhampton Wanderers to pursue a deal for Abraham as they attempted to cut short his loan at Villa Park.

After pondering a return to the Premier League, though, the young striker rejected advances from Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on Tuesday and appears to have committed his short-term future to the Championship club.

Nevertheless, this does not appear to have fazed Palace. According to the Mirror, they remain interested in exploring the possibility of a deal for Abraham, whose stock continues to rise.

Chelsea are stated to be reluctant to sell their academy graduate, with a loan move the only plausible outcome if he is to swap Villa for a top-flight side this month.
