The agent of Watford’s Roberto Pereyra has confirmed that Chelsea are one of the teams interested in signing the player.
As reported by the Express, Sergio Furlan has revealed that the Blues tried to sign the player during the summer transfer window.
Did Mazzarri want him at Toro [Torino] last summer? Yes, I can confirm that. There were talks, but the English team’s demands were considered excessive, I can’t deny that.
Chelsea also tried, but without success. To Toro [Torino] in the summer? It would amaze me if the Granata didn’t try again, but we must see Maxi’s desires, Watford’s plans and the offers that will arrive.
Pereyra has been impressing at Watford ever since his move from Italy, with the former Juventus midfielder adding some creative spark to the squad at Vicarage Road.
The Argentinian will be a player that Maurizio Sarri will know very well from his time in Serie A and clearly the Chelsea head coach remains a fan.
Torino have been heavily linked with a move to take the player back to Italy, but it appears that Chelsea could still be keen to do a deal.
The report claims that Watford are not interested in entertaining offers for the playmaker this month and will not make any decision until the end of the season.
