Sarri hopeful Morata will be fit for Newcastle clash

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is hoping that Alvaro Morata is fit to face Newcastle in the Premier League this weekend.

ESPN journalist Liam Twomey revealed what Sarri said in his pre-match press conference.

Morata missed Chelsea’s League Cup match against Tottenham during the week, but Sarri has confirmed that he returned to training on Thursday.

Eden Hazard has been playing as a false nine in recent weeks, with the likes of Willian and Callum Hudson-Odoi playing on the wing.

However, Morata could start up front and force Hazard back out wide, if the Spaniard is fit.

Morata has scored nine goals in all competitions this season, with a brace against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup last weekend.

He has been linked with a move to Sevilla this month, although he remains a Chelsea player for the time being.
