Chelsea have made enquiries towards French champions Paris Saint-Germain for the services of midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The 23-year old Frenchman has been one of the recurring characters of this January transfer window, with many top teams around Europe reportedly pursuing his signature.
Chelsea are understood to be one of those clubs after offloading Spanish superstar Cesc Fabregas to Monaco, and according to Get French Football News, French news outlet L’Equipe is reporting that Chelsea have already held preliminary discussions.
The Blues are looking for reinforcements to their midfield after the sale of Fabregas and with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante not on top form.
Rabiot, who joined PSG from Toulouse in 2013, has made 14 league appearances out of a possible 17 this campaign but is out of contract at the end of the season, and he has seen his role in the squad become confused under Thomas Tuchel.
As a result, the five-time Ligue 1 winner is reportedly desperate for a move away from the French capital.
