Barcelona considering Giroud move
Barcelona could consider a move for Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud to bolster their ranks this month.
According to Marca, Giroud is one of a number of strikers that Barcelona are looking at following Munir’s departure to Sevilla.
The report claims that Tottenham’s Fernando Llorente is also on Barcelona’s list, along with Alvaro Morata – who has also been linked with the Spanish giants over the past few weeks.
Giroud has often found himself on the bench for Chelsea this season, with Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard preferred in the lone striking role.
Hazard has been deployed a false nine recent weeks, with Pedro and Willian completing the attacking trio in the wide areas for Maurizio Sarri’s side.
The French international, Giroud, has scored ten goals in 42 appearances for Chelsea since his move from Arsenal in January of last year.
Giroud joined Chelsea after scoring 105 goals in 253 games for Arsenal in a five-and-a-half-year spell at the Emirates.
