Chelsea make contact over Bailey deal

Chelsea have made contact with Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey over a potential deal this month.

According to the Mirror, Chelsea have spoken with Bailey and are one of a number of clubs interested in signing him in the next few weeks. Bailey’s agent, Craig Butler, is said to have confirmed the contact with Chelsea.

The report claims that Arsenal and Manchester United have also been previously linked with the winger, although it does not state whether or not they remain keen.

Bailey has only been able to start eight league games for Leverkusen this season, leading to speculation that he could move to the Premier League.

Chelsea have already made one signing from the Bundesliga this season after they announced the arrival of Christian Pulisic earlier this month – with the American having been loaned back to Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season.
