Fulham keen on loan move for Drinkwater

Fulham are keen to sign Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater on loan until the end of the season.

According to the Mirror, Fulham are attempting to free up a loan slot in their squad to then be able to sign Drinkwater.

As it stands, Fulham are unable to sign any more domestic loans, but they are looking to send Timothy Fosu-Mensah back to Manchester United this month.

If they are successful in doing so, they will then make a move for Drinkwater – who Claudio Ranieri is said to be eager to work with again.

The report does, however, claim that Manchester United do not want Fulham to send Fosu-Mensah back, which could complicate the deal.

Drinkwater has fallen out of favour under Maurizio Sarri this season and the Mirror claim that the Italian boss is happy to let him leave during the current transfer window.

The English midfielder joined Chelsea from Leicester for a fee in the region of £35m in the summer of 2017.
