Chelsea make move to sign Barcelona youngster Moriba
Chelsea have made a last-minute bid to sign Barcelona youngster Ilaix Moriba, according to reports in Spain.
Sport claim that the Blues have made contact with the player’s agent and talks are believed to be progressing well.
The report claims that Roman Abramovich himself has tasked Marina Granovskaia to complete a deal for the 16-year-old.
Chelsea are believed to be long-term admirers of Moriba and have offered him a tempting deal to swap Barcelona for London.
According to Sport’s report, Chelsea’s offer is better both in ‘financially and sporting’ terms.
Manchester City and Italian champions Juventus are also said to be in the running to sign the player, who is being dubbed as ‘the new Paul Pogba’.
The report claims that Moriba is not rushing into a decision on his Barcelona future, but an exit from the Nou Camp is looking likely, with the player already attracting a wealth of interest.
