Sky Sports and talkSPORT presenter Jim White has confirmed that Everton are ‘working on’ a deal to sign Michy Batshuayi this month.
Speaking on his talkSPORT show, as cited on This Is Futbol, White provided an update on Everton’s pursuit of the Belgian striker.
White is known to be close to Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and he believes that work over a deal for the 25-year-old is ongoing.
Everton are working on Michy Batshuayi. They want to bring him there. Whether they can is another matter.
The Toffees were linked with a move to sign the Belgian earlier this month, with French side Monaco also keen.
It has since been reported that Chelsea are delaying a potential loan move to France in the hope that Everton are forthcoming with a permanent offer to sign the player.
Chelsea are open to cashing in permanently and with Kurt Zouma already on the books at Goodison Park, Everton will only be able to land Batshuayi by paying for a permanent deal.
