Gonzalo Higuain says he cannot wait to play with Jorginho again, following his loan move from Chelsea.
The 31-year-old joined the Blues from Juventus on Wednesday – he had been on loan at AC Milan – in what is an exciting signing by the club.
Higuain has been one of the world’s leading strikers for several years now, enjoying successful spells at Napoli and Juventus.
Jorginho is receiving plenty of criticism at the moment, with many blaming him for Chelsea’s current dip in form.
The midfielder’s performances have become increasingly ineffective since his exciting summer arrival from Napoli.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Higuain says he is keen to team up with his former Napoli colleague again, having shone together in 2015/16:
It was my best year as a player and he’s a wonderful midfielder who contributed to that.
He’s also a very good friend of mine so it’s a real pleasure to once more be joining up with him, and I hope we can achieve great things together again.
Thursday’s EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Tottenham has come too soon for Higuain, who will likely watch the action from the stands.
He could make his Blues debut on Sunday, however, when Maurizio Sarri’s side host Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup fourth round.
