Milan ready to pay €40m to sign Bakayoko

Italian side Milan are ready to stump up €40 million to sign Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko on a permanent basis.

According to a report from Tuttosport, as cited on Sport Witness, the San Siro outfit have come around to the idea of spending big on the French midfielder.

As part of their loan agreement with Chelsea, Milan have the option to buy Bakayoko at a pre-arranged price of €40 million.

There had been some concerns about a permanent move to Italy, with the midfielder failing to impress in the early stages of his loan.

However, as the months have passed this season, Bakayoko has gone from strength to strength under Gennaro Gattuso and has finally rediscovered some of the form that he showed at Monaco.

It was then claimed that Milan would try and engineer a cut-price deal, but it now seems that they are ready to pay the big money for the player.
