Giroud rejects big-money offer from China

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has reportedly rejected a big-money contract to move to the Chinese Super League.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, as cited on Sport Witness, the striker has been the subject of interest from China, but he has opted to stay at Chelsea, for the time being at least.

It is claimed that a contract worth €10 million a year was on the line in China with Dalian Yifang, but the Frenchman was not interested in the move.

Giroud has attracted a wealth of interest recently, with his immediate future at Stamford Bridge looking bleak.

Premier League side Wolves have been credited with an interest, while Ligue 1 outfit Lyon are also said to be admirers of the striker.

The recent arrival of Gonzalo Higuain has cast major doubts over the amount of playing time he will get for the remainder of the season, having already struggled to break through under Maurizio Sarri.
