Batshuayi prefers Everton move over West Ham

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi would prefer to join Everton over a move to West Ham, according to Simon Johnson.

Johnson reports that Everton are keen to sign the player on a permanent basis, while West Ham have also enquired about a loan deal until the end of the season.

It is claimed that Everton are still some way off raising the funds to sign Batshuayi permanently.

It has previously been reported that a permanent deal for the Belgian striker would cost the Toffees a fee of £35 million.

The Hammers are looking to sign another striker before Thursday’s deadline, with the club also linked with a move for Olivier Giroud.

Everton themselves are keen to add another forward to their squad, with Marco Silva’s team lacking goals this season.

Batshuayi has been struggling on loan at Valencia and Chelsea appear keen to cash in on the forward this month, with his future in London looking bleak.
