Chelsea in three-way race to sign Isco

According to Rai Sport via CalcioMercato, Chelsea will be part of a three-way battle to sign wantaway midfielder Isco from Real Madrid.

The three teams who are most heavily linked with the player and would also able to make a realistic offer are Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester City with all three looking to push onto Champions League success.

However, it is believed that the two Premier League clubs are leading the race ahead of the Italian champions due to their financial clout.

Reports suggest that the Spanish midfielder has fallen out with Madrid manager Santiago Solari over the amount of playing time he’s been getting and as a result of the divide, he will be allowed to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

Isco seemed to see the funnier side of his predicament last week as he was captured on the bench joking with Luca Zidane saying: “I don’t play because I’m bad” during Madrid’s win over Espanyol.

But with Real Madrid struggling to catch rivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid in the race for the La Liga title, rumours are also circulating that it may be Solari that is shown the door in summer which would leave any Isco transfer on the rocks.

matchday.
