Eden Hazard has asked Chelsea fans to be patient with Maurizio Sarri’s new implementation of N’Golo Kanté.
The France midfielder, who has garnered so much domestic and worldwide recognition for his ability and achievements in the past few years, has suffered slightly this season from a positional change.
Manager Sarri has moved the 27-year old from his usual holding role, with the former Leicester man now operating in a more advanced position, to make space for summer signing Jorginho.
This has caused many from Chelsea’s fanbase to question Sarri’s tactical approach, with many questioning the reasoning behind moving one of the best holding midfielders currently playing into an unfamiliar position. However, star man Hazard has pleased with fans to have patience.
Speaking to the Times, as reported by the Evening Standard, Hazard said:
N’Golo’s a clever guy, one of the best in his position, maybe the best in the world. N’Golo now plays six months in the different position.
He needs to adapt. When we win, everyone will say, ‘Yes, he plays in his [best] position, and if we lose everyone will say, ‘No, he needs to go a bit behind’. Depends only on the result.
